But we also have other stories to tell, about femininity, strange parties, unapproachable men and rich writers. Suicide and the desire to commit suicide is still a crazy taboo, a difficult condition to face up to, even for those who live in privileged circumstances. Those who are insightful, well-fed, young and talented, like Esther Greenwood. Sylvia Plath's cult novel is a devilishly accurate account of alienation.
