Nicole's (Audrey Hepburn) father, a renowned art collector, lends his museum's treasured treasure, the Cellini Venus, to a Parisian museum, which calls in experts to help discover the statue's provenance. The only way Nicole can save her father from exposure is to steal the perfect fake made by her grandfather from the exhibition. But right at the start of the operation, she makes a capital mistake: she hires Simon (Peter O'Toole), a private detective investigating her father, as her accomplice...
