Péter Tomasek - Reflections
Welcome to the opening of Péter Tomasek's exhibition: Reflections.

Schedule
Tomasek is a graphic designer by training, but he was drawn to graffiti as an art form - a personality trait that is clearly reflected in his artwork. His desire to escape from the everyday and to be free in general is manifested in his paintings at various points by stepping out of the plane into space. Much of his work can be interpreted as an attempt to resolve social criticism or introspective tensions.
His symmetrical, almost vector-graphic compositions of straight lines and chains of lines (similar to the practice of the North American Hard-edge school of painting) achieve their dynamic harmony through the totality of colour contrast, yet still in absolute systems of equilibrium.
The use of vivid colours in harmony with this gives life to his works, while the geometric shapes, composed in proportion from sharply accentuated lines, lend energy and verve to the objects (not only wall hangings) created in mixed media.
