Year of the Dragon Lantern Festival
The Year of the Dragon Lantern Festival will lead visitors into a colourful and magical world of light and shadow fantasy for 70 days from Saturday 16 December 2023. In the Biodome garden and building on Zoo Boulevard, follow the light of hundreds of lanterns and enter the spectacular world of the Year of the Dragon, a wonderfully colourful world of animal beauty from 5 to 9 pm.

Gates open at 17:00.
- Recommended last entry time 20:15.
- On-site daily ticket sales close at 20:30.
- Gate closes at 21:00.
- The event will be open from 16.12.2023 to 24.2.2024.
- Arrive in comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Most of the exhibition is outdoors.
- There will be catering and some attractions such as the Schäftner carousel in some outdoor areas of the Zoo during this period.
- In the Parasztudvar, in the Courtyard of Crafts, we provide you with toilets and a baby-mother's room with baby changing facilities.
- If you arrive by car, you can park your car at the ParkolóZoona or at the Zoo boulevard in a pay parking lot. If you arrive by public transport, the 72 trolleybus stops in front of the Széchenyi Spa. You also have to get off at the Széchenyi Baths stop.
- The whole area of the event is barrier-free.
- Dogs are not allowed in the Zoo area.
- Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Some installations will use moving light effects and background music.
- For your safety, please follow the visitor routes and take care to keep the lanterns intact.

- On the last day of the event, 24 February 2024, the event will be open only with tickets purchased on site.
