Dénes Békés, a successful gynaecologist in his thirties, accidentally locks himself in his surgery. This is where the problems start. Or no, maybe it doesn't: it starts with him not daring to tell the truth. He tells everyone what they want to hear. While he tries to resolve this seemingly minor inconvenience over the phone from the office, his little lies take on a life of their own outside, and he becomes increasingly desperate to fix the irreparable - locked up all the while. Will Dénes Békés Békés be able to sort out this afternoon (and with it his whole life, which seems to be falling apart), to reweave the threads that have been torn apart by his two kindergarten children, a friend with a link, his naive girlfriend, his eco-bio-liberal-Waldorf wife, his elderly mother and the unborn baby of a pacient - or will he be forced to start telling the truth?
Paul Göttinger was awarded Best Therapist at the 2014 Vidor Festival. Telefondoktor, directed by Anna Gáspár, is the third production in the history of Manna Produkció to win an award at the Vidor Festival. In 2010, Réka Pelsőczy's production of Little Bunny Hop Hop received the Best Chamber Theatre Production award, and last year, Mihály Taksás won the Best Set Design award for Midsummer Night's Dream. Telefondoktor is Borbála Szabó's fresh, highly entertaining one-man farce, the first theatre production by Dénes Orosz, which has been staged at the Thália Theatre since September 2012.
Length of performance: 90 min
Thália Theatre
In the Thália Theatre, the focus is on light-hearted entertainment, in the spirit of the "Pest Broadway" of Nagymező Street. The Thália Winter Garden, inaugurated in 2019, is a little more serious, while the Arizona Studio is home to independent productions. In 2017, the capital reaffirmed its confidence in the management, with Gábor Kálomista applying for the post of managing director and Géza Bereményi as an advisor.
