We invite you to a group session where we will develop the education of the future in exciting ways!
Introducing the Socrates Programme and discussing a keynote video.
We invite all those who have an idea of what a good secondary school or university should be like, and want to hear what others think about it, to join us in a brainstorming session with education organiser Máté Halmos.
Schedule
The one and a half to two hour session will show in practice what a school based on dialogue and debate can be like. What is the purpose of the school? Is there enough space for thinking, reasoning, automatic writing?
While analysing the state of education, we will also learn directly about ways to improve the system.

What is it like when following authority does not set the tone?
How is it when everyone gets attention because we accept from each other, give to each other?
What is it like when a penguin's abilities are not judged by whether it can climb a tree?
At the end of the session, we will present the Socrates Programme at CEU, which offers free university education to adults who have not had the opportunity to study before.

The Open Workshop is a fine place, a place where many different kinds of people can feel at home, which is to say that there is something that is rare and difficult to create, the spirit of the place. This spirit is very sympathetic to me, because it means both that there are shows that interest me and that the occasional stew is okay. And that I'm likely to meet people there who I'm happy to meet, and it's not even out of the question that they're me. Such public (open) spaces are rare in Budapest.
