TechnoDisco: Dj Budai, Demmyboy, Patrik Gora, Ben Dover, Milumination, Aesztetik
We would like to invite all techno fans to a really special evening! The venue is the A38, a more than 50-year-old ship on the Danube, which has been one of the main bastions of the Budapest underground for 20 years, and it's no coincidence that it won the title of "+the best club in the world" in the Lonely Planet poll. Step on board and you'll understand why!
If you love techno and want something really special and authentic, this is the place for you! The headliner of the evening is none other than one of the emblematic fihguras of Hungarian techno. DJ Budai has a career spanning more than three decades and his name is known even to those who are far from this style. He is the alpha and omega of the style, and generations have grown up on his mix CDs (and even cassettes) released in the late 90s. If you ask a 30+ year old in Budapest today, they will most likely tell you that DJ Budai's legendary techno mix tapes (like Techno-House Classics or DJ Mix Vol2) made them fall in love with the style and become obsessed with the four-quarter. The tracks on these mixes are forever burned into the hearts and ears of the Hungarian audience. Total catharsis erupts when these songs are played at any party.
At the same time, DJ Budai is one of the few veteran DJs in Hungary who is able to constantly innovate, both in terms of technique and selection. What is eternal is his signature ass-shaking funky line! How interesting that groovy techno is enjoying a renaissance. So there's no shortage of replacements. One of DJ Budai's main concerns is talent management, so support is provided by his two mentors Demyboy and Patrik Gora. The former has already played several times at A38 with DJ Budai, the latter is the resident of the Sunder Club in Szeged, Hungary's only underground techno club.

Schedule
On 25 May, generations will meet at the DJ booth, and that's why the new A38 will debut on the same night, where one of the favourite party series of the Budapest expat community, Kindergarten, will host the DJs. The warm-up will be provided by Aesztetik, who comes from the world of soul parties, but has been pushing the funkier side of things lately, with increasing success abroad, and his own music played by current favourites such as Beau Didier and Anathea. He is followed by Ben Dover, the host of Kindergarten, who is also the founder of the only independent Hungarian electornic music news portal primate.hu. He will be followed at the bar by Milumination, the owner of the aforementioned Sunder Club, the main driving force of Szeged's underground electronic music scene.
From the description you can probably already feel that this is going to be a very special evening! It's full of people who have techno at heart, who get up and go to bed with it every day. You won't find faces and vibes like this anywhere else in the world. If you're looking for a truly authentic experience that's not only good for your ears, but also for your soul, come here! A constant smile is guaranteed. Then tell us at home what it's like to taste the taste of homegrown techno in Hungary!
The event will run in two venues, the Concert Hall and Orr Studio, simultaneously.
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
