In the violent atmosphere of a reform school, Daniel finds solace in the Christian religion. But his criminal record prevents him from enrolling in seminary. When he is granted parole from the institution to work in a sawmill in a small local town, his life and the lives of the locals take an unexpected turn. Instead of working, the young man pretends to be a priest and starts serving in the parish, slowly becoming a member of the congregation and the community. Daniel learns about the tragedy that surrounds the town and the relationships and conflicts between its inhabitants. The film is a real speciality, come and discuss it with us!
MANYI's film club on the second Wednesday of every month focuses on films that we find interesting from a psychological point of view. In this youthful community space, the focus is on the individual for the film screening and the discussion that follows. Whether it's about the difficulties of intimate relationships, the obstacle-filled journey of growing up, childhood traumas, addictions and behavioural disorders or the portrayal of mental illness, our aim is to understand each other and ourselves a little better through talking about the films.
The post-film discussion will be led by psychologist Dorottya Havas and film critic Martin Győri-Drahos.
