Színpadra fel! – Birds with Knives

As part of the Fringe program, launched in 2024 to support the mission of the Hungarian House of Music—we issued a call for applications in three categories—we are offering emerging musicians and amateur bands at the beginning of their careers, as well as street musicians, music schools, and music workshops, the opportunity to perform at various locations within the House. The “On Stage!” series features talented, up-and-coming musicians and amateur music groups (bands, vocal ensembles, mixed groups, etc.) who are just starting out and have had little opportunity to introduce themselves to a wider audience. This time, Birds with Knives will be performing on the Open-Air Stage.

Birds with Knives’ music is born at the intersection of tight rhythms and floating melodies. The band describes its style as math-rock, which strongly incorporates the atmospheric layers of post-rock and the raw, deep, pulsating energy of stoner rock. Their songs are characterized by complex rhythms, dynamic shifts, and sweeping guitar riffs, making them both hypnotic and explosive. Their sound is layered and instinctive, and its instrumental nature leaves room for the listener’s imagination. The band was formed in Pécs in 2024.
