Schedule
Allah-Las is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2008. Their music is best known for its sunny California vibe inspired by the '60s, a blend of psychedelic and surf rock elements, and a distinctive lo-fi, vintage sound.
The band members (Miles Michaud, Pedrum Siadatian, Spencer Dunham, and Matthew Correia) originally worked together at the famous Amoeba Music record store in Los Angeles, where their shared passion for old vinyl records shaped their sound.
Their early albums were characterized by the sounds of British Invasion pop bands (such as The Kinks and The Zombies), the jangly guitars of The Byrds, garage rock, and heavily reverberated surf rock melodies.
On their later albums (especially *LAHS*), the band moved away from classic California garage rock and incorporated elements of Latin American, Brazilian, and desert rock into their music, also featuring songs in Spanish and Portuguese.
On their more recent releases (such as *Zuma 85* and *Sirenas*), they opened up to 1970s art-pop, the more electronic textures of Krautrock, and even entirely instrumental, improvisational song structures.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
