"I've never seen a film like this before. I don't want it to sound modest, but I have some experience in this area: I've seen a few thousand, all kinds: silent films, avant-garde, experimental, brutal horror. I've seen Pasolini's Salò, Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, and I even watched a bit of Cannibal Holocaust (it was uninteresting, I didn't finish it). These films are notoriously shocking, but they pale in comparison to the latest film by Aleksei German—the greatest living Russian director alongside Sokurov."
This is what Slomski wrote about the film on a blog.
