The protagonist of Dalai Lama – The Teaching of Happiness is His Holiness himself, the 14th Dalai Lama, who sits face to face with the viewer at the age of nearly 90 to talk about the simple questions of life – happiness, suffering, peace and compassion – with a immediacy and wisdom that is both timeless and urgently relevant.
The film is not a traditional biographical portrait or collection of teachings, but a kind of moving meditation in which one of humanity's greatest thinkers looks into the camera – and thus into us. In the light of the state of the world, the global environmental, social and moral crises, the film shows how we can still live with hope: if we look for the source of happiness within ourselves, and thus the key to the solution – and for this practical guidelines, simple coping techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life also offers for all those who strive for a more balanced and harmonious life.

Bem Cinema
In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
