Too Bad We Didn’t Bring Your Mother…
The lively, boisterous, outspoken, often taboo-breaking pieces of the rich treasury of Hungarian folk poetry from Vojvodina—created specifically for adults—come to life as an unconventional fairground puppet play, seasoned with plenty of music and dance.

Schedule
These stories—most of them obscene—sometimes with irresistible humor, sometimes in a lyrical and thought-provoking way, but always free of prudishness, with a knowing wink, about the love life of ordinary people—from the creation of Adam and Eve, through the fleeting joys of peasant daily life, to the turbulent journey leading to the afterlife—evoking flashes of happiness and carefree laughter.
Special thanks to Margit Balla for the “Death” figure she designed!
The performance is sponsored by Michlberger Pálinka.

Budapest Puppet Theatre
Budapest Puppet Theatre dates back more than 70 years, and generations have grown up with its performances. We have had great eras, emblematic performances, and have been able to respond to the changes and cultural influences that have surrounded us. We are the only established theatre in Budapest that specialized in the genre of puppetry.
