Absolute Puppet Theater
It’s finally time for the grown-ups!
Would you have thought that a puppet theater could be your playground, too?
The Absolute Puppet Theater is the Budapest Puppet Theater’s new monthly series, where there are no prerequisites, no expectations, and no prior puppetry experience required—just your curiosity and a desire to play.

Schedule
The main focus of these three-hour sessions is creation, play, and experimentation. We work with puppets, objects, various situations, and theatrical tools, while together we ask questions, try things out, make mistakes, and discover new possibilities.
This is not a course, nor is it a regular group: each session is a standalone program that requires a separate ticket for admission. Whether you join us for just one evening or return month after month, you’ll always encounter a new theme and new fellow performers.
From October through May, a different theme and a different creative partner await you each month. The sessions are led by Viktória Végvári, and artists from the Budapest Puppet Theater join in the performance.
First session: October 15 – Stereotypes of Puppets – with Edina Ellinger, director, actress, and theater director
In November, Károly Hoffer will join the series with a new theme and a fresh, playful approach.
Important: Please wear clothes that allow you to move, play, and create comfortably!

Budapest Puppet Theatre
Budapest Puppet Theatre dates back more than 70 years, and generations have grown up with its performances. We have had great eras, emblematic performances, and have been able to respond to the changes and cultural influences that have surrounded us. We are the only established theatre in Budapest that specialized in the genre of puppetry.
