Food design programme for the exhibition *Black Mirror: The Long Shadow of the Future*
The world of food, dining and gastronomy has long been a recurring theme in art. At the same time, contemporary gastronomy – particularly fine dining – is paying ever greater attention to the visual presentation of dishes, their aesthetic quality and the design concept behind them.
But how will we eat in the future? What role will food play in our identity and culture? And how can we preserve the creativity and experiential nature of gastronomy in a more sustainable future?
Together with Márta Merkl, an art historian and food design researcher, we’ll take a brief journey through the world of contemporary food imagery and explore the latest trends in fine dining and food design. Taking the works from the exhibition *Black Mirror: The Long Shadow of the Future* as our starting point, we will also explore how art, food, design and reflections on the future can be interconnected.
The programme is interactive, so participants can get involved not only as observers and discussion partners: a special surprise tasting is also part of the evening.

Ludwig Museum
The Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art, located in Müpa, is the first museum in Hungary to exclusively collect contemporary art. In addition to a permanent exhibition of the collection donated by the Ludwigs and a number of temporary exhibitions, the museum aims to raise awareness of the works and their creators through special publications and a variety of art education and art education programmes.
