BPZINES Archive
We open the archive of Budapest Zines, a Budapest-based micro-publisher and risograph studio founded in 2015. A decade of zines, comics, artist books, risograph experiments and independent publishing — brought together at ISBN+.
Opening September 4, with the release of Untold Stories 4.

Schedule
+ Budapest Zines is a Budapest-based micro-publisher and risograph studio founded in 2015. They publish zines and art books that they themselves would love to pick off the shelves of bookstores—but since they can never seem to find them, they have no choice but to publish themselves. With this exhibition, we celebrate a decade of the studio’s existence.
+ The direct colors of risograph printing, the small printing imperfections, the communal nature of the creative process, and the limited editions of 100–200 copies create a sense of immediacy, especially compared to the meticulously edited, mass-produced publications that seem to be pressed perfectly into shape. These imperfections become refreshing little treasures in contrast to soulless mass production.
Throughout the exhibition, we have several events planned:
September 4 ➔ Grand OPENING and UNTOLD STORIES 4 comic release
September 23 ➔ COLTRANE100 fanzine release
October 14 ➔ JAMES TUREK – TACO DAYS graphic novel release
November 8 ➔ FINISSAGE
