Discover the botanical treasures of City Park!🌿 During this program, you’ll not only encounter City Park’s rich flora, flower beds, and landscape architecture, but you’ll also gain insight into their design principles and functions.
THE WALK’S ITINERARY
🌳Garden for the Visually Impaired: The first stop on the tour is this garden, designed specifically for the visually impaired, which is open to sighted visitors exclusively as part of this walking tour.
🌹Rose Garden: Next, we’ll explore the Rose Garden at Millennium House, where nearly 1,500 rose bushes bloom in all their splendor and fill the air with their fragrance.
🌷 Mihály Mőcsényi Botanical Garden: The program concludes here, where visitors can explore ponds showcasing open waters and marsh wildlife, as well as numerous unique plant species.
Participants will be guided through Liget’s revitalized green spaces by a landscape architect from Garten Stúdió, which helped design the park.
Garden of Blind People
The Garden for the Blind is Hungary’s first fenced-off section of park in Budapest’s City Park, designed specifically for the rest and recreation of people with visual impairments. Located at the intersection of Ajtósi Dürer Street and Hermina Road, the nearly one-hectare area was originally opened in 1972 and was then fully made accessible and modernized in 2018 as part of the Liget Budapest Project.
