the evening’s atmosphere will be set by the children from the Máltai Symphony Orchestra who come from disadvantaged backgrounds – this is the third time the Hét Hat Club has invited them to perform.

And there’s no need to go home once the concerts are over, as the evening continues with an after-party!

OBADU:

Their music features Hungarian and Romanian folk music

elements in a fresh electronic arrangement. The kaval, shepherd’s pipe and flute play a prominent role in their music, which they

combine with drum rhythms found in hip-hop and Latin American music. Their style is genre-diverse,

yet their unique sound can be heard in every track.

HÉT HAT CLUB:

The band was born in the Budapest underground scene, where art-punk musicians from ruin pubs, international nomads and dance-house revellers come together. The street musicians of Hét Hat Club have toured Europe, North, Central and South America. They have gathered a colourful array of rhythms and stylistic elements for their sound, bringing Hungarian and Carpathian-Balkan folk songs back to life in a modern form. Kjartan Code – the American outlaw – sings in English, Hungarian, Romanian, Spanish and Turkish, alongside his distinctive lyrics. Their musical style is often described as: gyp-hop, maneleton, post-mulatós, folk-techno.

MALTESE SYMPHONY:

The Maltese Symphony is a social programme run by the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, which uses music as a tool to help disadvantaged children struggling with school-related issues to integrate into society. On this occasion, the children will perform Beás Romani songs, which are particularly close to their hearts, as their ancestors were also Beás. In this way, through music, they can showcase a part of their own cultural heritage. The children have come from the villages of Csököly, Gyulaj and Drávafok.
