It is best known as the "Capital of Matyó Land"; the world-famous, colorful Matyó embroidery and traditional folk costume have been part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list since 2012. Besides its rich preservation of traditions (centered around the Hadas district), the town's other major attraction is the Zsóry Thermal Bath and Spa. Its sulfurous medicinal water is excellent for treating rheumatic and joint complaints, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign tourists every year.
