Our theme nights continue! Each time there will be someone from the dancers who will bring a framework, rules of the game or any ideas they think will influence that night's performance. Improvisation remains, experimentation takes direction.
Willany Leo is 15 years old. Most of the artists who had worked with us for years in the previous season have moved abroad or left the company, and the company has undergone a major revitalisation. In our 16th season, as in the past, our regular Wednesday improvisational performances will seek to build and maintain a community of dancers, musicians and audience members, but we will also be adding new research, shows, workshops and a mini-festival. With a youthful drive, a horizontal operation, an evolving professional background, amazing stamina, lots of humour and love, we look forward to seeing you again as long as we can. Come to Leos!
The concept of the Willany Leó performances is mostly that there is no concept. Performers from different genres meet in Trafó's studio with the aim of creating a performance they know nothing about. We explicitly ask the performers to leave personal events outside the space, and by "being in the present" allow what needs to happen to happen. In this way, each of our performances - like each of our days - will be unique and unrepeatable. Slow, fast, sad, shocking, funny, sexy, virtuosic, in love, disappointed, calm, difficult and uplifting. None of them, something completely different, or all of them at once.
