Country and rockabilly infused with an authentic American sensibility meet in The Restless' original songs. In 2022, The Restless won "Entertainers of the Year" at the Texas Sounds Country Music Awards in America. In 14 years, the group has released 7 albums and one gold album (Earthbomb). Their sixth English-language album was completed at Rosewood Studios in Texas. Their song "Go America" is also on an Austrian, a Polish and a Hungarian compilation album. The band's latest Hungarian-language album, which features such artists as Tamás Bényei (Hot Jazz Band), Ádám Nagy (Roy and Ádám), Péter Légrády (100 Folk Celsius), Napfonat, Sam Mckenzie (Paddy And The Rats), Zoltán Király (VHK, Moby Dick), Karavan Familia, Bordó Sárkány, was nominated for a Fonogram Award this year. Besides their own songs, they perform Johnny Cash and rockabilly covers.
Redbreast Wilson & The Mad Dog Margaritas
"The everlasting human experience, the acoustic sound and of course the romance of the emblematic American landscape [...] these are the cornerstones of Sam's musicality, yet in the middle there is one element that towers and holds the system together: storytelling. The American tradition of ballad songwriting is Sam's inspiration, and his songs are often closer to poetry than music." (Art7.hu)
Redbreast Wilson's band, Mad Dog Margaritas, will visit the A38 stage. Krisztina Volkova (vocals, accordion), Andor Vörös (pedal steel), Feri Szász (guitar), Károly Horváth (bass), Danny Bain (drums).
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
