Babra, a revival of the Balkans' thousand-faceted musical traditions, was founded in Budapest, at the intersection of East and West, in the eternal melting pot of traditional and innovative urban cultures, in spring 2014.
The band, which is 10 years old this year, has both a passion for Balkan culture and family ties to the music of the southern Slavs settled along the Danube, preserving its originality and spirit, creating new musical forms from traditional melodies, aiming to develop a unique sound and style.

Babra recalls the defining styles of tambura music of the last hundred years. At the heart of their music, therefore, is the tambura family of instruments, together with the accordion and clarinet.
