György Korda was born in Budapest on 4 January 1939.
He first appeared on stage in 1958 as a pupil of Ernő Vécsey, and his first success was with the song Szeretni kell.
In the early 1960s he was one of the most popular singers in the country. The rise of the beat did not favour the 'traditional' dance song style, but she was one of those who managed to stay on the scene. His popularity was maintained and increased by dance song and other festivals and competitions broadcast on television and radio. He is credited with the production of many home adaptations of Italian hits.
In the early 1980s he met and soon married the singer Klári Balázs. Their mutual inspiration was the culmination of their art and, in the case of György Korda, a renewal. They spent ten years touring for a few months in North America and Australia.
His passion for cards is legendary, and he broadcast poker matches on Sport TV with the unusual panache of a sports reporter.
In 2002, he received the Márta Záray-Vámosi János Záray Cultural, Artistic and Memorial Foundation Award. In 2003, he had a major success in Gábor Herendi's film, The Hungarian Wanderer. In November 2007, his biography A Korda-sztori was published by his wife Klári Balázs.
Also in 2007, he received the Artisjus Music Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2009, he played a poker player in Tamás Sas's film Singles' Night.
Since 2022 he has been a member of the Dun
