There are certain boundaries within which Western music is confined by centuries of tradition. There is an equal distance between two notes, and it is always the same, there are established instruments, rhythms.
The Decolonize Your Mind Society breaks this down as it is. The band feeds on African as well as Far Eastern motifs, while tearing apart the norms I have just listed. It may sound wrong at first, but don't let your senses get the better of you. There is something much more at stake here.
