More than three decades have passed since Quimby first devoured the night in Budapest and then systematically twisted the minds of not only Hungary, but also Europe. Tibor Kiss (vocals, guitar), Livius Varga (percussion, vocals), Szilárd Balanyi (keyboards, vocals), Dódi Kárpáti (trumpet, vocals), Ferenc Mikuli (bass), Ferenc Gerdesits (drums) have left an indelible mark on Hungarian popular music with sixteen albums, while over the years they have developed their own unmistakable sound.
From bone-crunching lyrics to reimagined chansons, guitar hits to the wildest psychedelia, an unnamable musical universe and one-off, off-stage performances have been needed to make Quimby Hungary's number one live band by the mid-2010s. In addition to almost constant national and international tours, the band filled the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena more than once and turned the zero day of Sziget 2013 into a wonderland.
The now all-grown-up band has been forged together by the successes and challenges they have experienced together. And as they said at the end of their sold-out Budapest Park concert in 2022, it looks like they're here to stay.
