The Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music is one of the oldest music education institutions in Hungary and a training school of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, the "Bartók konzi".

The Konzi Jazz Club has been a tradition in the history of the school. Now, with the support of Lumen Café, it is once again possible to revive, reinterpret and re-establish the tradition of the Jazz Club of the Bartók Konzi Jazz Department.

In the first part of the series, on 29 May, students from the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music and Instrumentation will perform with their own ensembles:

In order to support the workshop character of the concerts, admission to the concerts is free of charge for students of the schools participating in the series, and the students performing can also collect community points by performing.

For the rest of us, admission is two thousand forints, which helps support our performers and the series!

The name "Unpacking" is borrowed from the University of Fine Arts' end-of-year art show, where students "unpack" their work for the year in an exhibition. Here, students, teachers and visitors can see what each person did, what they achieved and what they created that year. We would like to establish a similar tradition with the participation of different music schools. A regular opportunity for students to present their work in the form of a concert, where they can listen to each other and the public and show each other what they have been working on and what they have achieved at the end of a given period - practically once a quarter. As well as showcasing the schools, we also aim to bring students from different schools together and inspire them to work together.

The SECOND PART OF THE SERIES will take place on 8 JUNE, where students from the Electronic Music Media Arts Department of the PTE MK and the Music Academy will perform a joint improvisation evening!
