Slow Village: Lassú Palota
Since its formation in 2016, Slow Village, which plays old-school hip-hop in a not at all anachronistic way - with three MCs and two DJs - has now reached the point where it can play headlining gigs in clubs all over the country, and most summer festivals invite it to play evening sets. In addition to his two albums and several EPs, his award-winning videos have generated hundreds of thousands of views. They will be coming to Müpa Budapest with a performance created especially for this evening, which will be both a summation and a slight reinterpretation of everything they have created so far.

Slow Village's ars poetics revolve around rap music in all its capital letters: "neck-snapping grooves and character loops, rhymes from the very heart of the scene with traces of poetry, slam and a touch of irony. A sort of B-boy chippiness, an educated ghetto mentality, a little real flavour for those who like stronger spices. Drum patterns, samples, basslines from the small room to the big stage". The quintet pay homage to genre greats such as the eponymously inspired legendary Detroit slum village, Lootpack and A Tribe Called Quest, but they tailor their rustic romanticism to the 21st century. Their albums, 2017's 201X and 2020's The Road, have been enthusiastically received by industry and public alike. As have their shorter releases, such as 2018's Miezmágenin', 2022's Slow Village to Na'Conxypan with Takeshi, the album Storitell, also from that year, and the latest, 2023's ;. Sztoritell's music videos won prestigious awards at the sixth Hungarian Music Video Awards - the title track was named Video of the Year. In a special summing-up and reinterpreting concert at Müpa Budapest, they will be joined on stage by exciting guest musicians and cool artists.
