Ferenc Kardos' film Petőfi '73 was made to mark the 150th anniversary of the poet's birth. High school students from Budapest and Pápa recall the events of Petőfi's life in a "revolutionary passion play".
The students reinterpret Petőfi's revolutionary character and in discussions clarify their own concepts of revolutionary character, their possibilities for action today and their relationship to society.
Boys and girls with long hair and jeans re-enact the events of the Revolution of '48 to the music of Levente Szörényi.
