Although Kip Winger has been making music since the late seventies, it wasn't until the mid-eighties that his name was first brought to the public's attention when he became the bass player in Alice Cooper's band. He has recorded three albums with Alice, including the smash hit Thrast, and has also appeared on numerous other recordings, including backing vocals on Twisted Sister's Love Is For Suckers. Although she always spoke of those years with pride, inside she was preoccupied with other things: Kip wanted his own band, where he could play his own music.
In 1987, he formed his dream band, Winger, along with Reb Beach and Rod Morgenstein; a year later, their debut album was released, and shortly afterwards, their second album, In the Heart of the Young, went platinum in America and gold in Japan. Their third and for a long time final studio album, Pull, was released in 1992/93 - and the success story was interrupted for a long time.
Winger reunited after more than a decade. The four band members, Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Rod Morgenstein and John Roth, once again showcase their uncanny instrumental and vocal skills in fantastic hard rock songs.
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
