The orchestra combines the artistic diversity of its members, enriched by the vibrant musical culture of Barcelona. With the vibrancy of gypsy jazz, the energy of rock'n'roll and the elegance of classical music, they combine the music of the Balkans, Catalan-Berber, Greek, Italian, Russian and Middle Eastern. The Barcelona Gipy balKan Orchestra transposes music into our everyday lives, respecting traditions and their ancient backgrounds, thus linking the past with the present.

Elán
Elán" was born in 2022 at the initiative of Zsombor Herédi. Our repertoire is diverse, but mainly based on urban folk music of Central and Eastern European cultures, from Macedonian Čoček, through Romanian Lautar, straight to Hungarian folk music. Inspired by the emblematic soloists and vocalists of all these genres, and complemented by our own musical paraphrases, we create a unique musical atmosphere, in which the harmonica takes the leading role, together with singing, and the improvisational playing of solo instruments is combined with the virtuosity of the individuals. Our musical milieu is reminiscent of the cafés of 20th century Europe, where there was also a varied repertoire to please the European public taste. Our album "Agile", released in 2023, shows how different cultures can be combined to create a fusion musical base, enriched by improvisations on different instruments.
