Lajkó Félix // Uljana Quartet
VI. Óbuda World Music Week in Kobuci Garden!
Félix Lajkó always swears by unique, unrepeatable performances, a musician who uses his instruments as a mediator between himself and the world. No matter what he does or who he performs with, the result is always a mix of soul music, instinctive and visceral, drawing from unknown sources. Félix Lajkó's musical world has created a genre of its own, which he blends with a special sensitivity and sense with virtually any musical combination that is as demanding as his own. This has been written about him by his critics, and he has been performing in a wide variety of formations for years: solo, trio, with large ensembles or symphonies, or playing 'party music'. And always a new attempt to explore the limits of violin playing, to experience and understand music! In the latest Koboci excursion, they bring the turbulence of the Lowlands with fellow musicians from Freetown...

Schedule
Julcsi Paár's latest formation, the Uljana Quartet, is a sophisticated chamber music group focusing on the lyrical tone, sensitive lyrics and melodies of Hungarian folk songs, and the interplay of improvised instrumental playing. World music with contemporary improvisational elements, but drawing from the Hungarian folk melodic treasure. The songs of the Uljana Quartet, therefore, are strongly interwoven from the authentic Hungarian folk vocabulary as well as from the living, breathing musical layers of the present. Dense yet fresh music, thought-provoking, contemporary and Hungarian.
Members:
Paár Julcsi - vocals
Gergő Kováts - saxophone
Szabó Dániel - cimbalom
András Bognár - bass
