Miss KK - Modern Renaissance
Hungary's first female street artist has so far only left her mark on the streets, but now, after a long time, she is back with a solo exhibition. Our dear old friend and acquaintance is moving her favourite female figures to the Telep Gallery, whom we all know well, whether we are fans of various forms of pop culture or universal art history.
The exhibition is on view until 10 July.

If you've been wandering the streets of Budapest, you're bound to have come across one of them. They're in abandoned doorways, dusty shop windows, once-glorious iron gates, scrawled telephone boxes. Giant female figures staring you in the eye, staring at you phlegmatically, smiling coquettishly, or glancing over your shoulder with a faraway look as if you weren't there.
They are the city.
It's like they've stepped out of a strange fashion magazine from another universe. Their outlet is the concrete jungle.
Their outfits are strikingly unconventional, eclectic and chatty: a bejewelled tiara, a Gucci belt, a cracker packed with oranges, a sizzling sweatshirt and a fiery red patent skirt all work well together.
Miss KK placed her first wall hanging in Budapest more than fifteen years ago, and her characterful dolls have since become an inalienable part of the capital, especially in the busy, secluded corners of the party district.

Not even Gozsdu was standing when TELEP was, and it's still welcoming the most easy-going human elements.
