The Szalóky Classic Jazz Quartet, which plays American jazz music from the 1930s and 1940s, was originally formed as a group that performed once a month, exclusively in clubs, as a group of friends. Over the years, they have found themselves on the stages of concerts and festivals, and recently even represented Hungarian jazz in Qatar.

The name refers to the pre-swing style, which few people in our country play, but their repertoire also includes slightly later compositions. Their performance style is slightly eclectic, with the unmistakable stylistic traits of Ruby Braff and Charlie Christian, Bobby Hackett and Barney Kessell, or Benny Goodman and Louis Armstrong. Although the members of the band have all played at Opus, this is the first time the Szalóky Classic Jazz Quartet has taken to the club stage.
