Dresch Mihály Húros Kvartett

Their first studio album, Forrásból (From the Source), was released in 2017 by Fonó Records, and was the first imprint of new musical qualities created at the intersection of jazz and Hungarian folk music traditions. "With his saxophone, trombone and surprisingly powerful singing voice, Mihály Dresch has taken on the role of a folk music premier in the traditional sense - with a naturalness that goes without saying. The result is an album that is equally at home in the dance hall or in the concert hall, and which fits in perfectly with Dresch's oeuvre", Attila Retkes wrote about the album in Gramofon magazine.

The second album of the formation, Ongaku 2021, was released in 2021, on which - after a change of members and now under the name Húros Quartet - we can hear Sándor Csoóri Sündi (viola, tambura), Ferenc Zimber (cimbalom), András Bognár (bass) playing, and Hortenzia Lőrincz joins them as a singer for one song. Mihály Dresch says about the album. In Chinese, it is a character different from medicine. During a rehearsal, when this composition had not yet been given a definitive name, we were struck by its oriental cultural overtones. In Hungarian thinking, these two concepts can easily be linked. The connection between music and the soul is not a new idea, its beneficial effects were already recognised by the ancient Greeks. I hope that this album comes close to these two meanings.
