Jü play the music of rapture: their often austere, sometimes downright repetitive swirls of unfolding themes, their compositions of psychedelic and noise rock, some folk and some thoroughbred power jazz, all at once, carry incredible energy.

The music evokes a golden age of seemingly different genres coming together, but beyond the obvious reminiscences, Jü is not a revival of the fusion music of the late sixties and early seventies.

By expanding the possibilities of the instruments, they take the trance-stricken audience from the present to the future: a production that ideally changes the way the audience thinks about music. In their clean, strong programme, the witty improvisations never for a moment stretch the boundaries of the compositions - the strict dynamic and tonal unity required of the trio line-up both forces the three creative musicians to be disciplined and gives them the opportunity to bring out the best in each other. The now trademark Jü sound combines the intensity of rock, the freedom of free jazz, the hypnotic influence of ambient textures and the complex, visceral rhythms of African music.

Jü was formed in Budapest in 2012. The members of the trio are musicians much in demand on the Hungarian music scene, coming from bands such as Qualitons, Zuboly, Erik Sumo Band, Dresch Quartet and Grencsó Kollektiva. Over the decades, they have appeared at jazz clubs and festivals such as the Ljubljana Jazzfestival, Saalfelden Jazz, Cairo Jazz Festival, Oslo Nasjonal Jazz Scene or London's Vortex.
