Experiment!

Art is often the result of trial and error, of playing and experimenting... you could say it's child's play! In September, we'll explore some of the museum's most interesting techniques and create our own exciting creations. Using light, we'll paint, spray paint with scrapbook paper, roll, print with paper bags and make illusion paper collage.

Ages: 8-13 years

Maximum number of participants: 15

Monthly fee: 15.000 HUF/month

Tickets are non-refundable but transferable.

Children may attend the sessions on their own, unaccompanied.

Meeting point: information desk

After the programme, children will be accompanied in a group back to the information desk from 17.30-17.40. Please let us know in writing if you wish to leave unaccompanied at the end of the session: [email protected]

What can you leave your mark with? What methods were used in the past to reproduce a drawing? We'll get into the shoes of graphic designers, see what they used before modern printing presses and try out the simplest tools, from potatoes to decorgumi.

6, 13, 20, 27 November - Time travel!

Late medieval art is rich in colour and symbolism. In fact, in many cases even colours act as symbols alongside flowers, animals and objects. In our November sessions, we will explore the most exciting medieval imagery and biblical stories, then paint initials and ornaments, create our own symbol-filled altar and make herbarium books.

4, 11, 18 December - Festive fever

Santa Claus and Christmas are finally back! In December, we'll be immersed in the festive preparations, including learning about the story of St Nicholas and the Gallery's strangest Christmas painting. We'll get creative and make unique wrapping paper and Christmas tree decorations.
