"The children chose us. "

The Alma Ensemble started out playing for adults, but a chance invitation to play a children's concert was so successfulA that they soon found themselves playing almost exclusively children's concerts.

In August 2018, Gábor Buda, the mastermind, frontman, singer and composer of the band founded 25 years ago, put his world music sound on a new musical footing. Then the excellent bassist Alex Berkesi joined the band, followed by saxophonist Marci Mits in 2022.

Perhaps the country's best-known children's orchestra takes an improvisational approach to the dance-music interplay during the hour-long family concert: children and even parents are active participants and shapers of the show, which is full of fun. The key to their success lies in their sincerity, which touches children's souls, and their ability to move both their laughing and dancing muscles.

In addition to their own songs, the orchestra has been performing the most beautiful poems of classical and contemporary poets for 27 years with unbroken success. Their shows are a laugh-out-loud educational experience for children, while providing light-hearted and meaningful entertainment for the whole family.

The orchestra boasts numerous Fonogram nominations, gold and platinum records. The songs composed by Gábor have more than 280 million YouTube views. Their most successful song, Today is my birthday, is the most shared piece of national content on Facebook. The band has written music for the hugely successful cartoon series Bogyó és Babóca, and has created theme songs for the 3D animated cartoons Khumba and Manu, the most adorable swallow.

They give 250-300 sold-out concerts a year at home and abroad.

Duration: 60 minutes.
