PETOFI - The last Budapest concert of the year!
The Nyíregyháza-based melodic hardcore band PETOFI celebrated the 10th anniversary of their first single this year. In the last decade they have been touring most of the big cities and underground festivals in Hungary. On their latest album "Levelek a földból" (Leaves from the Ground), released in 2023, they pushed new boundaries in musical solutions, all while staying true to their roots: the ripping guitar themes and the characteristic but bittersweet atmosphere.
Schedule
Lightchaser
"Lightchaser was formed in Esztergom in 2015, originally as a side project of musicians from other local bands. It has been a long-lived endeavour, as they have since released 4 EPs, several singles and videos and played in most underground clubs in Hungary and several abroad. Their music is hard to pigeonhole, somewhere within the triad of metal, hardcore punk, post hardcore, touching all corners of it. They are currently working on their next release, which will be played at this party, and last year they performed for the Comeback Kid, of which they are very proud."
Splitleaf
Debuting with their single "Crown of Thorns", the Budapest band is aiming to give everyone a really aggressive party with their heavy themes, downtempo and bone-deep vocal themes.
The event is supported by the National Cultural Fund.
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
