This season the Örkény Theatre celebrates its 20th anniversary. In two decades, we have given more than a hundred performances, welcomed two million spectators, won a hundred professional and festival awards, and fortunately failed a few times. We have learned the most from that.
On 23 May 2025, we are preparing for our biggest ever meeting with our audience: a birthday party with eleven thousand of us at the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena! The all-night event will be a concert, party, poetry, rock, jazz, classical music and folk song, film and theatre, remembrance and a look into the future - where the entire Örkény company will take to the stage - and will be a one-off, no repeat performance, maybe in 20 years at the most.
