After the first four years of Skinny Puppy, the outstanding singer-keyboardist has brought a whole new colour to the world of industrial, both through his FLA atmosphere and his songwriting/producing presence. It's perhaps no exaggeration to say that the band, which went from independent labels to MTV rotation, Billboard charts and the Quake III soundtrack in the 1990s, quickly found itself among A-list acts and festival headliners, while the members themselves actively contributed to breaking new ground in an atmosphere of industrial harshness and metropolitan loneliness. Rhys Fulber's production and keyboard presence on albums by Fear Factory, Paradise Lost, Mindles Self Indulgence and Nailbomb have provided a fundamental new impetus to the subculture's pushing of boundaries and the intersection of metal and electronics.
