Innovative Swiss drummer Jojo Mayer's new project Me/Machine integrates human power with machine power, analogue drumming with artificial intelligence, in an improvised duo where the machine imitates the human and the human imitates the machine.

Sergé "Jojo" Mayer's career took off in the early 1980s when, at the age of 18, he was given a place in pianist Monty Alexander's ensemble. He then went on to play in the jazz-rock band Screaming Headless Torsos and the fusion band Intergalactic Maiden Ballet. In the early 1990s, Mayer moved from Europe to New York and worked as a backing band for a number of different artists before forming the quartet Nerve, the band in which Mayer developed the idea of reverse technique, playing machine rhythms on acoustic drum kits.
Jojo Mayer is known for his fusion of jazz, drum'n'bass and jungle, and electronic music has been a central influence on him in recent decades. Me/Machine is the next chapter in this love affair between man and machine, machine and man.
