Schedule

Polish-born bassist Kinga Glyk's latest album was produced by five-time Grammy winner Michael League (Snarky Puppy, David Crosby) and engineered by Grammy winner Nic Hard (Snarky Puppy, Charlie Hunter, Ute Lemper).

"During our first conversation, Michael asked me what I wanted to say with the music," says Kinga Glyk. "I told him that I wanted to control the music with the bass, but I didn't want people to think it was just a bassist's album. The idea was to create beautiful songs. Music can be interesting and powerful enough to touch your heart even if there are no lyrics. I like to use music to describe my feelings and to make beautiful songs that can touch someone's heart when you don't necessarily think, oh, this must have been written by a bass player. It's more about telling stories through music."

He's worked with artists such as aerophonist Casey Benjamin (Robert Glasper Experiment), drummer Robert "Sput" Searight (Snarky Puppy, Ghost-Note), and a group of top keyboardists including Caleb McCampbell (Beyoncé, Michael Bublé), Julian Pollack (Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, Joe Lovano), Nicholas Semrad (Miss Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli, Bootsy Collins), and Brett Williams (Marcus Miller, Mumford and Sons, Stevie Wonder).

As a testament to his talent, Marcus Miller has invited him to duet with him.
