Kneecap
In post-civil war Belfast, Northern Ireland, two frustrated twenty-somethings and a record-horse literature teacher form a (national) hip-hop band called KNEECAP, but in doing so they unexpectedly become the vanguard of the Irish language civil rights movement and self-proclaimed pioneers of national identity.
Ireland's Oscar nominee this year tells a true story (more or less), with the members of the rap group playing themselves in the film, including Michael Fassbender. Kneecap is a fast-paced comedy about the birth of Irish hip-hop, packed with memorable music and crazy moments, making it a national and generational feel-good film.
