Their concert is also a journey through music history, from ancient Greek music to contemporary music, where the styles of the eras frame the improvisation of the moment as a theme. Pianist János Nagy hardly needs an introduction to Hungarian jazz fans, but few know that he also has a close connection with church music; their saxophone-organ duo album with János Vázsonyi was recorded in the church on Szilágyi Dezső Square. Flóra Joubert is an excellent partner in this formation, as her sophisticated drumming organically blends into the improvisations, which could almost be called chamber music, as an equal third party. Their guest on this evening will be Moroccan-born singer-musician Saïd Tichiti, who will complement the trio's musical world with the trance-like repetitive style of the gnawa (Berber) tradition, accompanied by exotic instruments such as the gembri (three-stringed Arabic bass instrument) or the oud (Arabic lute).
