APOSTOL 55
Fifty-five years of the Apostol band. The jubilee will be celebrated with a "gala performance", i.e. a big concert on 26 April 2025 at the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena, where they will prepare a musical circus with unique instrumentation, never-before-heard songs and of course the great Apostol hits.

Schedule
It is important to underline that this will be their last concert in the Budapest Arena, which is unique in Hungarian pop music because it will combine their more than half a century old career with a musical journey through time, recalling the magic of the 70s and 80s, the unique atmosphere of the 90s and 2000s, and thus bringing us to the present day, where the unique musical world represented by Apostol is still relevant and pervasive.
András Csonka will be performing and will also showcase his dancing skills alongside his hosting duties. The event will feature a unique spectacle and musical circus, with different musical eras displayed on a giant LED wall, a dance troupe in period costumes, and a surprise guest on stage.
Apostol's history began in the summer of 1970. The students, who were still studying classical music at the time, were quickly infected by the beat movement and were open to new styles of music. Winning the National Light Music Festival in Salgótarján, as well as their first radio and recordings, encouraged the group to stop being just a hobby band. All the more so, as the name Apostol was intended to be a musical "proclamation".
They achieved their first breakthrough success with the song "We should live smarter", and when József Meződi joined them, he quickly won the hearts of the audience with his unique tone, and their success continued. The band's unique style soon became clear, as the group, which had been playing jazz rock, turned to fun light music, and one after the other, the big hits were born, such as "It's hard to say goodbye to happiness", "I can't live without you" or "My heart is for sale now" and others, which are still listened to and hummed by everyone.
Their success is unbroken to this day, and their secret is primarily their public appeal, because their songs touch people's hearts: their hits are about the feelings and situations in life that we have all experienced or will experience in our lives. They are constantly on tour, having played nearly 10,000 concerts at home and abroad, and have won numerous gold and platinum records, national and international awards.
On April 26, 2025, at their 55th anniversary concert in the Arena, they will recall the band's more than half a century of history, but of course the concert programme will not leave out the evergreen hits that everyone knows, because there is a place for every song in the musical circus.
