Schedule

In 1991, the still waters of the peaceful opera life in Budapest were unexpectedly stirred up by a girl from kiskunhalas, barely twenty years old. At an audition, she brilliantly sang the famous aria of the Queen of the Night, and Endre Ütő immediately signed the girl, who had not graduated from the Academy of Music. Erika Miklósa introduced herself as Papagena, with her athletic background, her radiant figure, her fresh voice and a natural joie de vivre and energy that had long been missing from the Opera. One by one, the soprano coloratura roles followed, while the young artist perfected her skills with Julia Hamari. In 1995, she sang her first role at the Erkel Theatre in Queen of the Night, a role that has become her worldwide calling card. She has sung Mozart's heroine more than 300 times on all the world's major stages. Erika Miklósa has a strong commitment to her community and has been the jury president of the Virtuosi since 2014.
