Schedule

Formed in 1980, Die Krupps have had a long and varied career and have had a major impact on electronic music, and it is no exaggeration to call them the pioneers of industrial metal and electronic body music (EBM). Their early, experimental albums, such as 1981's Stahlwerksynfonie, combined elements of synthesizer-based dance music with the mechanical rhythms of industrial, laying the foundations for what is now known as EBM. In the 90s, heavier guitar riffs appeared in their songs: the industrial metal sound of I and Metal Machine Music was a big influence on the music of Rammstein or Fear Factory. The group has released 11 albums to date and their popularity has not waned. The Krupps' lyrics often deal with various socio-political issues and the relationship between technology, work and man. Their major impact on the scene has been enhanced by their regular involvement in various collaborations with other artists, producing countless joint songs and remixes. The group still includes founding frontman Jürgen Engler and keyboardist Ralf Dörper, with drummer Paul Keller and recently transferred guitarist Dylan Smith from Sisters Of Mercy. The band will perform at the Dürer Kert on 9 September.

Location

Dürer Garden

Recently moved from its original location, the Dürer is a staple of Budapest's metal scene. But don't be scared, it's worth a visit even if you just want to have a couple of drinks by the Danube. From spring, of course.
