The letters open a window into a forgotten world where being yourself meant breaking the law, and where if you "masqueraded" as a woman, you could easily find yourself in jail. The letters were unearthed after 60 years and 5 years of research - the result is a documentary that reveals a part of LGBTQ history that has never been spoken about.
