The guitar-pop quartet, led by Damon Albarn (vocals and keyboards), started out in the late eighties, dabbling in a variety of genres, eventually found its style as one of the founders of the Britpop movement, and in the second half of the decade was a guide to how a band can renew itself several times. One of the most important and successful groups of the 1990s, their third album (Parklife, 1994) topped the UK charts on each of its albums.

After fifteen years, they said goodbye to each other and to the public for the first time in 2003, then enjoyed a second heyday between 2009 and 2015, and have been back together since 2023. Toby L.'s nearly two-hour film documents this surprising reunion and the making of their ninth CD (The Ballad of Darren, 2023) after an eight-year hiatus.
