A Bence kalandjai

2025-02-28T18:00:00.000Z

The Adventures of Bence is an acoustic orchestra singing poems. Its distinctive feature is the cosy interplay of various stringed instruments and polyphonic vocals, which makes it easy to experience the topicality of contemporary texts. The poems of poets such as Ádám Nádasdy, Dénes Krusovszky, Júlia Varga, Csilla Tóth and Lajos Parti-Nagy are brought to life.

Bence's adventures are influenced by the folk artists of the 60s, the greats of sung poetry and the tradition of bluegrass music. The dramaturgy of the concerts serves as a way to quieten down and escape from everyday life. The sound and the atmosphere are light and natural. Wandering through the imagery of the lyrics, you get the feeling: it's like a good theatre!

Schedule

Zsurlók is the title of the formation's latest album, in which the five-piece line-up, accompanied by a double bass, performs poems, all of which are accompanied by music from Dénes Krusovszky's poetry collection Áttetsző viszonyok (Through the Darkness). In his poems, the poet, winner of the Attila József Prize, speaks of everyday moments and inner feelings that we all experience all the time, but without them we would not even notice that, despite our habits, they can all be unusual and even surreal.

This is the first time we will hear the complete album, and after the concert we will talk about it with Bence Jobbágy and Dénes Krusovszky.

Location
